The History Behind the Technology

In 2007, Jim Stracka and his son Chase launched Stracka Design Company at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, debuting the first laser-scanned Greens Guides: 2D topographic contour maps that showed exact slopes and breaks in a format any golfer could use.

The growth that followed was deliberate and strategic. In 2008, Stracka acquired the iconic caddie yardage book business of "Gorjus George" Lucas, a PGA Tour staple and former Arnold Palmer caddie later inducted into the Caddie Hall of Fame and integrated laser-scanned green topography directly into those books.
